I got up at 6:15 and boiled water for coffee and oatmeal from the lake. The Base Camp water filter plugged last night.  We got everything packed up and were on the water at 8:55am. Took a little time to troll around the lake and let Ethan pitch a few plugs as we headed towards the Nina Moose River to make our pickup at noon.

Just before we left the lake into the weeds before the river, we caught a couple nice walleye.

As we entered into the Nina Moose River, we encountered our first of three beaver dams. This first one we had to pull over and the other two we were able to maneuver around.

Here we interrupted a pair that was having their morning breakfast.

Only one portage to go!

Our last look at water as we pulled out onto dry land at 11:11 am

Everything was sitting in the Moose River parking lot at 11:45 for our noon pickup.

The outfitter was there at 11:55 and we were loading on the way back to Ely about 12:05pm. It was about a fifty minute ride back into town. The driver had a cooler full of pop and candy bars.  Ethan later told me that it was about the best snickers he had ever had.

Unloaded the gear into the truck and took a shower at Piragis. Then we went into the store and bought T-Shirts for the crew back home.

It was time to fill up with gas and swing into Subway for Ethan. I did two bottles of gator aid for my lunch. It was 2:30 pm and we were on the way home.

We pulled into Hanlontown, IA at 8:50 pm – 372 miles later.
